Bevel Gear Hobbing

In bevel gears, toothed rotating machine components are used to transfer mechanical energy or power between shafts that are intersecting, either perpendicularly or at any other angle. So this causes a change in the axis of rotation of the shaft power. Apart from this, bevel gears can also increase or decrease torque and produce the reverse effect on the angular speed.

Note that bevel gears are usually a paired set and should not be used interchangeably. Bevel gears are assembled in a specific way due to its inherent transmission of both thrust and radial loads, in contrast with spur gears which mostly transmit radial loads only. All bevel gears are assembled at its optimum position for best performance.
